Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Tech Lead for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX / Indianapolis, Boston, Seattle, Portsmouth, NH. The candidate will guide development teams, conduct code reviews, and optimize system performance to meet critical business objectives.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $51/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mainframe Tech Lead Job Responsibilities Include
Pay Details: $45.00 to $51.00 per hour

Mainframe Tech Lead Job Responsibilities Include
- Lead the analysis, design, and hands‑on development of complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
- Manage and mentor mainframe development teams, providing technical direction and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Define, enforce, and present architectural standards while driving high‑quality solution design.
- Conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards compliance, and guide performance tuning initiatives.
- Collaborate with QA, business stakeholders, and offshore teams to align requirements, testing strategies, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor application performance and implement scalable technical solutions to support evolving business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 12–15 years of hands‑on mainframe development and technical leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in IBM mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
- Proven ability to lead development teams, enforce architectural standards, and deliver scalable technical solutions.
