Mainframe Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Alpharetta, GA. You will design and modernize mission‑critical banking systems while bringing strong mainframe engineering expertise essential for this role.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $37/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mainframe Developer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, develop, and enhance COBOL programs, JCL workflows, and DB2/VSAM datasets supporting core banking, payments, and trade‑processing functions.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CICS transactions for customer servicing, payment processing, and trade booking workflows.
• Develop Python automation utilities for batch orchestration, file/stream processing (SWIFT, ISO 20022, FIX), and data validation including AML/KYC checks.
• Implement Python-based ETL pipelines and integration scripts connecting mainframe systems with microservices, data lakes, and downstream analytics platforms.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, auditability, and operational resiliency across all development and modernization efforts.
• Support modernization and migration initiatives by enabling data pipelines, API integrations, and automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in mainframe application development and modernization within BFSI environments.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2/VSAM, and CICS for large‑scale banking or payments systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Python for automation, data processing, API integration, or ETL pipelines.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
