Akkodis is seeking a Linux Developer for a Contract with a client in Milpitas, CA. The candidate will be responsible for designing, refactoring, and debugging Linux applications while integrating reliably with device drivers through well-defined user–kernel interface boundaries.
Rate Range: $50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour

Linux Developer Job Responsibilities Include
- Develop and maintain Linux user‑space applications using C/C , adhering to standard Linux application programming practices.
- Refactor and optimize existing C codebases to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Design and implement user‑space to device‑driver interactions using mechanisms such as ioctl, mmap, sysfs, and shared memory.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues using GDB, logging, and Linux diagnostic tools across development and production environments.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and maintain clear user‑kernel interface boundaries while remaining outside kernel and driver development scope.
- Ensure robust application behavior through effective error handling, resource management, and adherence to Linux OS fundamentals (processes, memory, threading, and I/O).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience in Linux user‑space software development using C/C .
- Strong hands‑on experience with Linux OS fundamentals and user‑space to device‑driver interaction mechanisms (ioctl, mmap, sysfs).
- Proven ability to debug and maintain complex Linux applications using GDB, logging, and diagnostics tools in production environments.
