Lead Android Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Lead Android Developer for a Contract with a client in Owings Mills, MD. You will lead the design and development of advanced Android applications, ensuring high performance and compliance with the latest Play Store standards.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Lead Android Developer Job Responsibilities Include

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced Android applications, ensuring compliance with Play Store requirements and latest Android features.
• Drive full lifecycle support of Android apps, from initial development through publishing and ongoing maintenance.
• Develop robust, scalable applications using Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and modern architecture patterns.
• Integrate remote data sources via REST APIs and JSON, and implement multi-threaded, networked functionality.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing, debugging, and adherence to SDLC methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering technical growth and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Android application development and architecture.
• Proven expertise in full lifecycle Android app development, including publishing and ongoing support, with strong hands-on experience in Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams, operate within Agile/Scrum methodologies, and deliver high-quality, scalable applications while staying current with Play Store requirements and emerging Android technologies.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
