GCP Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a GCP Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in New York, NY. The ideal candidate is skilled in designing secure cloud networks and delivering end‑to‑end ETL and big‑data pipelines across GKE, Airflow, and Spark.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

GCP Data Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows using GCP services, Spark, Airflow, and Big Data technologies.
• Develop GoLang-based solutions and API integrations to support data ingestion, transformation, and operational data layers (ODL).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment across GCP and GKE environments.
• Architect and maintain secure cloud networking, including IAM policies, VPC design, 3rd‑party connectivity, and network security best practices.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support automated testing, deployment, and continuous integration.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally and communicate effectively to deliver high-quality data solutions aligned with business and engineering needs.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7 years of hands‑on experience working as a Data Engineer on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong proficiency in GoLang and architectural experience with ODL and API integrations, as required by the client.
• Deep expertise in cloud networking, IAM, Terraform IaC, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions) as specified by the client.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $53.00 per hour
