Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Oakland, CA. The candidate must be able to lead detailed power system design and analysis efforts across medium‑ and high‑voltage infrastructures.
Rate Range: 58/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Developer Job Responsibilities Include
Pay Details: $58.00 to $60.00 per hour

Requirements

Developer Job Responsibilities Include
- Perform detailed power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, and transient stability to support engineering decisions.
- Design and review medium and high voltage electrical systems such as substations, switchgear, transformers, grounding schemes, and protective devices.
- Develop single line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, and grounding plans to support project engineering deliverables.
- Create and review protective relay settings and coordination studies while supporting system reliability, redundancy, and fault mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NESC) and support safety and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, utilities, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to review specifications, support construction/commissioning, and provide technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- 10 years of experience in power system design, analysis, and engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise with power system analysis tools such as ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PowerWorld, or CYME.
- Proven ability to design and review medium and high voltage electrical systems, protective schemes, and industry compliant engineering deliverables.
