Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Louisville, TN. The candidate will design, optimize, and maintain GemFire clusters while supporting performance, scalability, and operational reliability across distributed memory data grid environments.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $39/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Developer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design and maintain GemFire clusters by defining region models, implementing high‑availability configurations, and ensuring disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Partner with application teams to translate business and technical needs into scalable, resilient GemFire‑based solutions.
• Enhance deployment pipelines, monitoring capabilities, and operational tooling to improve platform performance and reliability.
• Recommend optimization strategies for memory utilization, data partitioning, and query performance across distributed environments.
• Serve as a Tier‑3 escalation points to diagnose and resolve complex GemFire issues, including cluster stability events, failovers, and performance bottlenecks.
• Develop automation scripts, runbooks, dashboards, and architectural documentation to strengthen observability and operational maturity of the GemFire ecosystem.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or in‑memory data grid technologies.
• Strong hands‑on experience with GemFire, including cluster configuration, region design, WAN replication, and performance tuning along with solid Java proficiency.
• Ability to diagnose complex distributed‑system issues while leveraging CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools to enhance platform reliability and observability.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $39.00 per hour
