Akkodis is seeking a DBA for a Contract with a client in Newark, NJ (Hybrid). You will design and maintain scalable database systems while performing performance tuning and supporting application teams across Agile delivery cycles.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
DBA Job Responsibilities Include
Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour

Requirements

DBA Job Responsibilities Include
- Build, maintain, and support new and existing applications while preparing for large‑scale architectural migration within an Agile environment.
- Design, implement, and administer SQL Server database systems, ensuring stability, scalability, and high performance.
- Perform advanced database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and partitioning.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, proactively identifying and resolving system bottlenecks.
- Coordinate and execute database upgrades, migrations, and operational tasks to support evolving business needs.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 5 years of hands‑on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
- Proven experience with performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance of SQL Server environments.
- Strong ability to collaborate in an Agile setting and effectively communicate technical issues to cross‑functional teams.
