Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA/Austin, TX. Candidate must have strong MySQL administration expertise to manage databases across production, staging, and development environments with a focus on performance, reliability, and secure operations.
Rate Range: $58/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Database Administrator Job Responsibilities Include
Pay Details: $58.00 to $60.00 per hour

Database Administrator Job Responsibilities Include
- Managing MySQL databases across production, staging, and development environments to ensure stability and optimal performance.
- Handling installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and day‑to‑day database administration tasks.
- Optimizing slow queries, tuning indexes and memory, and collaborating with teams to support schema and query improvements.
- Overseeing replication setups, high‑availability configurations, backup and recovery processes, and failover readiness.
- Enforcing database security policies, access controls, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Utilizing monitoring tools such as MySQL Enterprise Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana to proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 6–8 years working as a MySQL Database Administrator with hands‑on exposure to performance tuning and high‑availability environments.
- Strong capability to manage end‑to‑end MySQL administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and backup‑recovery operations.
- Proven ability to optimize queries, support schema design, and collaborate effectively with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
