Automation Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a for an Automation Engineer job with a client in Rochester, NY. Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree In Electrical Engineering to be considered. Will develop control system architecture diagrams. Also provide control system training with operations and maintenance staff at client sites.

Salary Range: $100/year to $130/year; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Automation Engineer Job Responsibilities Include:

• Lay out control panels and create electrical schematic designs using AutoCAD.
• Specify control system equipment, including electrical panel components and motor control center hardware.
• Prepare control system assembly documentation, including bill of materials, wire list, and installation scope of work.
• Prepare PLC I/O assignment lists.
• Develop process control PLC applications using Allen-Bradley Logix 5, 500, and 5000 software.
• Develop HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications with Rockwell FactoryTalk View, AVEVA Wonderware, GE Intellution iFix, or Ignition software.
• Provide direct support to clients on new and existing systems.
• Develop network designs and specify industrial data center equipment.
• Develop custom applications using Microsoft VB.Net and SQL relational database software.
• Provide ongoing client support at factory sites or via remote connection.
• Commission control systems as part of a startup team at client locations throughout the U.S.
  
  

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering is required
• Minimum Five years’ related experience
• Must have experience within the food, beverage, dairy or pharmaceutical industries.
• AutoCAD drawing experience is required.
• PLC and HMI programming experience are required.
