Controller – Construction

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of construction project accounting, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries within platforms such as Foundation or comparable systems
• Enforcement of regulatory reporting standards and internal controls consistent with SOX and other compliance frameworks
• Management of accounts payable and receivable functions, covering invoicing, payment workflows, and cash‑flow practices that support liquidity
• Routine balance sheet reconciliations to maintain data accuracy and quickly resolve discrepancies
• Preparation of financial deliverables such as budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and project cost reports for leadership and auditors
• Support for payroll operations, ensuring proper labor‑cost allocation and adherence to relevant regulations, along with handling complex accounting areas like cost capitalization and revenue recognition under GAAP or IFRS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with CPA or CMA credentials viewed favorably
• Background in construction accounting or comparable industries, with strong command of GAAP, IFRS, SOX, governmental standards, and non‑profit accounting
• Skilled in financial systems such as Foundation or similar platforms, with broader financial management software experience preferred
• Strong grasp of double‑entry accounting, reconciliation processes, and core financial analysis techniques
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting tools—including Excel or specialized software—and familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements

Salary: $80K - $130K
