Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment.
Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies all financial management laws and regulations as established by Congress, DoD, and Air Force. Coordinates plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Identifies need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes. Balances workload and provides advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of functional area and administrative issues. Coordinates with other organization managers and customers as appropriate.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with multiple organizations and agencies. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise. Provides customer guidance and training. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals.
Continually assesses the quality of the programs managed to assure regulatory and technical integrity and identify improvements to enhance quality. Serves as a technical expert for various ongoing or special one-time projects. Chairs special working groups to study and resolve major financial problems. Recommend procedural changes designed to streamline financial management within the agency. Promotes environment that encourages accomplishment of change management activities supporting AFMC strategic goals and improving organizational business processes.
Requirements
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Requirements
- Obtain & maintain a security clearance
- Financial Management Certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of OMB, Congressional, and agency financial management and program objectives, budget precedents and controls guidelines and regulations.
- Knowledge of the commonly used agency budget, automated financial systems, and performance metric procedures, regulations, precedents, policies, and guides.
- Knowledge of personnel safety, security and management, EEO regulations, procedures and practices, and Merit System principles and intent.
- Ability to conduct studies, analyze data, develop alternative options/strategies and make recommendations to resolve budget/manpower issues.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organizational unit.
- Ability to utilize AoP concepts and principles to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
