Qualifications
In this position you will serve as the Prevention Specialist at an Air Force/Space Force installation. Major responsibilities include completion of administrative functions, budget execution, and implementation of primary prevention education and training for the total base population. Also works collaboratively with installation Integrated Resilience Office (IRO) partners to coordinate and integrate prevention activities to effectively prevent negative outcomes associated with sexual assault and harassment, family violence (incl. intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect), workplace violence (incl. harassment, bullying and hazing), suicide, and alcohol abuse/misuse prevention, hereafter referred to as self-directed harm and prohibited abusive or harmful acts.

- U.S. Citizenship
- A bachelor's degree or higher in a behavioral, social science, or related discipline appropriate to this position is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience within primary prevention is highly desired.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
- Given the sensitivity of the position, a criminal background check must be completed.
- Incumbent must meet screening/suitability criteria listed in DoD and DAF guidance.
- 1) Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to the prevention of violence.
- 2) Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to violence prevention and the multiple uses of such systems.
- 3) Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
- 4) Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
- 5) Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- 1) Must obtain, maintain, and renew credentialing as required by a credentialing board identified by the DoD and specified in policy.
- 2) Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- 3) May be required to work overtime, weekend, holidays, or shifts to accomplish mission requirements.
- 5) This position meets the professional exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.207).
