The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Plumber (WG-4742-10) to join the team at the 7th Civil Engineer Squadron, Dyess AFB, TX. In this position, you would provide maintenance, repair, and support of facilities, real property, and real property installed equipment for associated water, sewer, and fuel systems.

Hourly pay range: $28.67 - $33.45

QUALIFICATIONS
- US Citizenship is required
- The work may require that the employee be certified in the use and wear of a full-face respirator.
- The employee may be required to complete and maintain a Fire Suppression System Maintenance course certification from the USAF (or State equivalent).
- The employee may be required to complete and maintain a Back Flow Testing course certification from the USAF (or State equivalent).
- The work will require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.
- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.
- The work may require that the employee be certified or able to be certified as qualified for entry into hazardous liquid fuel tanks for inspection, cleaning, and repair.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains, repairs, and tests a variety of complex equipment and systems involving new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems.
- Maintains equipment and systems to include (but not limited to) fire suppression systems, water distribution pumps, water treatment systems, chemical dispensers, electronic and mechanical altitude valves, sewage lift station pumps, natural gas distribution system components, water closets, faucets, and backflow prevention assemblies.
- Measures, cuts, threads, joins, and fits piping as required to perform fire suppression system modification or to repair/replace system components.
- Installs, tests, modifies, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces backflow prevention devices. Troubleshoots, overhauls, removes, and replaces high/low level controls, liquid level gauges, automatic valves, pressure regulating valves, water drain valves, and sump pumps.
- Troubleshoots and repairs problems in the electrical components of water, sewage, natural gas, fire suppression, and fuel distribution systems.
- Participates in cleaning the interior surface of bulk storage tanks, above and below ground, by entering tanks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s)
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and repair of dry-pipe, wet-pipe, aqueous film-forming foam and high expansion foam fire suppression systems for aircraft hangars and other specialized facilities.
- Knowledge of fuel distribution and storage systems; of the physical properties and hazards associated with the handling of various types of petroleum fuels; and of preventive maintenance and inspection techniques as applied to fuel distribution and storage systems.
- Knowledge of technical practices in order to plan, lay out, install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair various systems and equipment, as well as techniques used to measure, cut, thread, join, and fit piping and tubing.
- Skill in installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing non-industrial & industrial facility plumbing water supply and wastewater disposal systems/equipment and skilled in calibrating fuel dispensing systems and tank and pressure gauges.
