In this position you will Serve as senior project leader for in-house survey and mapping projects for Air Force Base installation. Provides expert and technical support to other members of the Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) team and architect, engineering and surveying firms providing contract services which provide a wide variety of products and services to all Air Force activities within the geographic area. Provides consistency and high-quality documentation for surveying, design, and construction projects for all customers in the region. Interprets federal, state and local laws, regulations, policies, construction criteria, and other commercial technology sources to effect good business decisions and provide valuable information for use by the IGI&S team in successful project execution. Provides horizontal and vertical control maps to the architectural, engineering and surveying firms for all sites in the Air Force region. Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application for advanced concepts, principles and methods in land surveying. Develops standards and guidelines.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- Ability to ride an ATV is required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- Extensive knowledge of surveying principles and practices, relevant laws and court decisions, advanced mathematics, and related subject is required to perform the duties of the position.
- Knowledge and experience with the Public Land Survey System (PLSS).
- Knowledge of computer database management and ability to apply knowledge to information processing standards and procedures to CADD/GIS design and programming projects.
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- A good working knowledge of realty practices and laws of local jurisdictions in addition to Federal and Agency realty laws is desired.
- Skill in the operation and/or adjustment/calibration of surveying equipment.
- Ability to express ideas orally, in writing, or by means of graphics and sketches.
- Ability to develop conclusions from inconclusive and conflicting data is required.
