The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full‑Time Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, WG‑5803‑10, to support the 9th Logistics Readiness Squadron (9 LRS) at Beale AFB, Marysville, California.
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, and modify a wide range of heavy‑duty vehicles and mobile equipment, with a strong emphasis on automotive systems and components. This includes systems with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic components used for construction, earth‑moving, firefighting, and other specialized operations. You’ll diagnose hard‑to‑locate mechanical issues, rebuild major assemblies, perform functional and performance tests, and ensure all work meets technical specifications. - Skill in using diagnostic tools such as engine analyzers, compression testers, tachometers, and ohmmeters
- Skill in troubleshooting mechanical problems and determining repair requirements
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, diagrams, and specifications
- Ability to maintain, repair, overhaul, and modify heavy equipment with minimal supervision
