In this position you will troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify and maintain a variety of types of heavy mobile and automotive equipment. Work history with vehicle repair and troubleshooting experience. Must be able to use common diagnostic tools and follow safety practices. Must have good customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills and reading comprehension. Must have a valid driver's license.
Requirements
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of a variety of types of heavy mobile equipment and automotive vehicles sufficient to troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify teardown/rebuild and maintain systems and components.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures and environmental directives pertaining to handling hazardous materials.
- Skill in troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in a variety of types of heavy mobile equipment and automotive vehicles.
- Skill in using a variety of hand and power tools, measuring instruments, tire equipment and items of test equipment.
- Ability to interpret and apply manufacturers' repair manuals, technical specifications, schematics, safety manuals and similar guides sufficient to effectively maintain repair, overhaul and teardown/rebuild equipment components and systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, provide training to others and maintain records.
