Value of Position (VOP): $107,446 - 139,684 (without locality) based on experience. If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position.

In this position you will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer for the Department of the Air Force Portfolio Acquisition Execution Command Control Communication Battle Management (DAF PAE C3BM). The primary purpose of the position is to provide the organization and the Branch Chief/Material Leader with objective information and analysis for making Air Force investment decisions and adjustments for highly classified United States advanced technology assurance programs, by accomplishing a wide variety of assignments concerned with program execution and resource allocation. Special emphasis is placed on streamlined program execution that accelerates delivery of operational capability to the warfighter in a responsive and timely manner. Your mission is to oversee Air Force acquisition workforce policy and strategic planning as well as training, development & management of civilian and military acquisition resources. Organization goals: Develop and rapidly field operationally oriented capabilities of selected, Headquarters Air Force (Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force) directed projects in response to Combat Air Force and Combatant Commander needs. Conduct independent operational and technological assessments of Department of War (DoW) weapon system capabilities and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance
- This position is designated by the Air Force as a testing designated position under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program and is subject to random drug testing.
- Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
- Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they relate to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management, including associated policies, concepts, and systems.
- Knowledge of planning and program management principles; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and related engineering disciplines supporting sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; of standard acquisition regulations, and practices.
- Ability to devise and evaluate design criteria, parameters, and interrelationships; assess the impact of new technologies on existing systems and processes; and gather, analyze, and synthesize information to develop and recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy—both orally and in writing—and to work effectively and professionally with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other government agencies.
- This position is an Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner Level and incumbent must meet appropriate certification requirements IAW the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) program guidelines..
- Employee is required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
