Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Habilitation Workers to support individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and social interactions
- Assist clients with community outings, recreational activities, and social integration efforts
- Support clients in educational and vocational activities tailored to their needs
- Collect data on client progress and document observations accurately for program planning and reporting purposes
- Administer medication as prescribed, following all safety protocols and documentation requirements
- Use effective communication methods, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and engagement
- Maintain a safe and clean environment during all activities and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Drive clients to appointments, activities, or community events using personal or agency transportation
Qualifications
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs preferred
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques
- Skills in caregiving, assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and home & community care
- Strong communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children and adults
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings
- Ability to perform data collection accurately and maintain detailed records
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to person-centered support and client dignity
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some positions may require evening or weekend hours depending on program needs
