Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Visual Arts Instructor for our Winter Term After-School Program. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity and foster a love for the arts among students while providing a safe and engaging learning environment. This role involves teaching various visual arts techniques, managing classroom dynamics, and supporting the developmental needs of children.
Program Details
Location: Napa, CA
Schedule: Winter Term 2026, 2-3 hours per week on Tuesdays
Grade levels: K-8
Responsibilities
- Implement engaging visual arts lesson plans tailored to the interests and skill levels of students.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, respectful atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Provide individual support to students, ensuring that each child feels included and valued in the creative process.
- Maintain a safe environment by ensuring that all materials are used safely.
- Communicate effectively with the coordinator regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
Experience
- Preferred but not required - experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, such as daycare, camp, or tutoring environments.
- Background in visual arts with the ability to teach various techniques and mediums suitable for young learners, such as Papier-mâché, air-dry clay molding, painting, etc.
- Experience in classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with early childhood education or childhood development is a plus.
