About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Gymnastics Instructor to lead structured after-school sessions focused on introducing foundational gymnastics skills to elementary-aged students. This role offers the opportunity to inspire confidence, build physical literacy, and cultivate a positive relationship with movement and physical activity in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Leadership: Plan and deliver age-appropriate gymnastics lessons emphasizing core skills such as basic tumbling, stretching, balance, and coordination.
- Safety and Structure: Implement and uphold strict safety protocols, ensuring all activities are conducted in a secure, well-managed environment.
- Positive Learning Environment: Foster an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere where all students feel valued, supported, and motivated to participate.
- Classroom Management: Maintain student engagement through clear direction, consistent expectations, and effective group management strategies.
- Operational Support: Coordinate the setup and breakdown of mats and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized instructional space.
- Program Coordination: Accurately record attendance and communicate relevant updates or concerns to program leadership and site staff.
Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrated experience coaching, teaching, or leading gymnastics or related movement-based activities for children.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fundamental gymnastics skills and a commitment to established safety standards and best practices.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal communication skills and proven ability to manage groups effectively.

Compensation
- Hourly Rate: Competitive, commensurate with experience (to be discussed during the interview process).
- Additional Pay: Compensation may be available for lesson preparation and planning time.

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 2 per week
