Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually
Travel: Some out-of-state and overnight travel may be required

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will be part of a small but high-functioning team that provides practical HR guidance, ensures compliance, and promotes a positive, respectful workplace culture. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and comfortable balancing policy with common sense.

Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and supervisors across Aertssen locations
- Provide guidance on workplace issues, policy interpretation, attendance, and conduct
- Support performance management, coaching conversations, corrective actions, and investigations
- Promote consistent HR practices while recognizing site-specific operational needs
- Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly warehouse roles, supervisors, and salaried positions
- Coordinate interviews, offers, background checks, drug screens, and onboarding requirements
- Lead or support new hire orientation and onboarding
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, state leave laws, etc.)
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data across the organization
- Assist with policy updates, handbook administration, and employee communications
- Process payroll for temporary and regular employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll records
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and general questions
- Support leave of absence administration, including FMLA, medical, personal, and state-specific leaves
- Partner with payroll and benefits vendors to resolve employee issues
- Travel between warehouse locations as needed to support employees and leaders
- Support training and development initiatives for hourly employees and front-line supervisors
- Assist with HR audits, reporting, and compliance tracking
- Support safety initiatives and partner with operations on training and engagement efforts
- Participate in HR projects focused on retention, consistency, and employee experience
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of progressive HR generalist experience
- Experience supporting hourly and warehouse-based workforces
- High level of attention to detail and a "stickler for accuracy"
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
- Ability to work comfortably in an operational, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environments
- Passion for championing a safety-conscious and respectful workplace culture
- Must be able to work flexible hours to meet operational and workforce demands (warehouse schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Multi-site, multi-state HR support experience
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
