Position Summary:

The Aviation Hydraulic Repair & Overhaul Specialist is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and overhauling a wide range of aircraft hydraulic components and systems in accordance with FAA, EASA, and company standards. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of hydraulic systems used in both commercial and military aviation applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of aircraft hydraulic components (actuators, pumps, valves, servos, accumulators, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic component malfunctions using test stands, gauges, and specialized diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct functional and pressure testing to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and airworthiness standards
  • Interpret technical manuals, component maintenance manuals (CMMs), engineering drawings, and service bulletins
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation, work orders, and inspection records in accordance with FAA Part 145 repair station requirements
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory compliance procedures
  • Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams on technical issues or non-conformances
  • Operate hydraulic test stands and related shop equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and tool-controlled work environment

Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in aircraft hydraulic component repair or overhaul (civil or military aviation)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic systems, schematics, and pressure testing principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (CMMs, IPCs, blueprints, and service manuals)
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and Part 145 Repair Station procedures
  • Proficient with standard and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, pressure gauges, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


Preferred

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or equivalent training
  • Prior experience with hydraulic test stands and flow bench operation
  • Knowledge of electro-hydraulic systems and servo valve repair
  • Experience working under ISO 9001 / AS9110 / AS9100 quality systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for small parts assembly and precision work
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Work Environment:

  • Climate-controlled MRO facility
  • Exposure to hydraulic fluids, lubricants, and mechanical components
  • Hands-on technical environment with strict adherence to safety and quality standards
