Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is a motivated, well-spoken individual who supports procurement and cost optimization opportunities. They will perform industry research with limited supervision for executing and capturing cost reductions on expenditure.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Research new/current procurement opportunities
- Maintain Database with accurate and correct information
- Build and develop positive, long-lasting relationships with vendors
- Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, obtaining best price and service guarantee
- Ensure compliance within company purchasing guidelines
- Process / Monitor / follow up on open purchases, not limited to delinquencies
- Develop new supply sources
- Verify purchase requisitions for appropriate approvals
- Verify approved vendor purchases
- Work with internal and external parties to formalize procurement requirements
- Communicate across functions and departments to effectively manage risks, issues, and opportunities
- Monitor vendor quality goal
- Identify and suggest process improvements
- Cut Purchase Orders, working closely with the Production Specialist Team

Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and fingers. The Procurement Specialist is required to have close visual proximity to a computer to perform daily duties. Transport between departments and vendors as necessary..
