About the Role:

The CNC Machinist plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components. This position requires interpreting technical drawings and specifications to set up and program machines accurately, ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards. The CNC Machinist is responsible for monitoring machine operations, making necessary adjustments, and performing routine maintenance to optimize performance and minimize downtime. Collaboration with engineering and quality assurance teams is essential to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements. Ultimately, the role ensures efficient production workflows that contribute to the overall success and competitiveness of the manufacturing operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with CNC programming and operation, including knowledge of G-code.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality control procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or vocational training in CNC machining.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines.
  • Knowledge of multiple CNC machine types such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Certification from a recognized machining or manufacturing organization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Program CNC machines using G-code and other programming languages to produce parts with high precision.
  • Inspect finished products using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to resolve production issues and improve machining processes.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations or defects promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

The CNC Machinist utilizes technical skills daily to interpret complex engineering drawings and translate them into precise machine instructions. Proficiency in CNC programming languages, such as G-code, enables the machinist to set up and adjust machines for optimal performance. Salary : $46,500 - $68,500
