About the Role:
The Junior Estimator plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing process by accurately assessing the costs associated with production projects. The Junior Estimator collaborates closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure estimates are realistic and align with company capabilities and client expectations. The Junior Estimator will also assist in maintaining and updating cost databases and documentation to improve future estimating accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Sage Estimating, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings and technical specifications.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial estimating role.
- Knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes.
- Certification in Estimating (e.g., AACE International or similar) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand scope and requirements.
- Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to verify technical details and feasibility.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals and supporting documentation for client submissions.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical data to enhance estimating processes.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and delivery information.
- Support senior estimators in complex projects and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
