What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Supervisor - Contract to hire position at Aegis Worldwide?
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of up to 13 employees on the production floor
- Act as a working supervisor, supporting operations while leading the team
- Monitor and ensure proper operation of heat treat furnaces and related equipment
- Perform routine equipment checks, troubleshooting, and light maintenance
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet quality and output goals
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures
- Identify and escalate maintenance or process issues as needed
- Train, coach, and support team members to drive performance and accountability
Qualifications:
- Heat treating experience preferred (furnaces, thermal processing, etc.)
- Prior supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform light maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience working in a hands-on / working supervisor capacity
- Ability to read and understand basic technical or process documentation
- Comfortable training on day shift for ~60 days before moving to off-shift
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with preventative maintenance or maintenance support roles
- Background in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
- Familiarity with continuous improvement, safety programs, or 5S
