Senior Property Accountant | Residential & Commercial Owner Operator | Westchester
Real Estate Owner, Manager, Investor & Developer of Residential Real Estate seeking a Senior Property Accountant.
A Westchester based privately held owner, operator and developer of a quality residential property portfolio is seeking an accounting professional with experience to supervise varying accounting and financial operations. This individual will work closely with upper management and will be part of a cohesive group of professionals that manage this successful and growing organization. Ideal candidates will be intelligent, self-starters that are detail-oriented and have strong time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review property-level financial statements for a designated residential real estate portfolio.
- Perform month-end close procedures and review of monthly reporting package.
- Prepare, review and analyze property level annual budgets.
- Prepare workpapers including accruals, prepaid insurance, real estate taxes, bad debt, fixed assets and participate in the annual audits.
- Record all journal entries and perform bank reconciliations.
- Supervise the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting associated with the portfolio.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- BA in Accounting / Finance or relevant discipline.
- 4 years of experience with property accounting required.
- Proficiency with Yardi, MRI or similar real estate accounting software preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
- Be able to multi-task and be a team player.
Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000 plus bonus and benefits. Good work life balance
