Transaction Services Leader | Venture Capital & Private Equity Advisory
A high-growth, NYC-based advisory platform is seeking a senior Transaction Services leader to partner closely with the firm’s founder and help anchor its expanding diligence practice. This individual will serve as a senior, steady hand; owning key client relationships, leading complex buy- and sell-side engagements, and bringing structure, credibility, and judgment to a fast-scaling, sponsor-facing business. The role offers a rare opportunity to step into a visible leadership seat, driving both deal execution and the strategic buildout of a modern, PE/VC-focused transaction services platform.
Core Responsibilities
- Act as a senior leader within the Transaction Services practice, originating and leading complex financial due diligence engagements for private equity sponsors, strategic acquirers, and portfolio companies across the full deal lifecycle.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, owning senior stakeholder relationships and influencing investment decisions through incisive financial analysis and commercial insight.
- Lead and quarterback multiple concurrent engagements, setting deal strategy, aligning internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring seamless execution under tight transaction timelines.
- Direct quality of earnings analyses and key diligence workstreams, identifying critical risks, value drivers, and deal considerations that shape pricing, structuring, and negotiation dynamics.
- Own evaluation of net working capital, indebtedness, and closing cash; advise clients through purchase agreement negotiations and advocate on key financial terms.
- Present high-impact findings to investment committees, lenders, and C-suite executives, distilling complex issues into clear, decision-driving recommendations.
- Drive portfolio company value creation by advising on post-close integration, purchase accounting, reporting infrastructure, and operational performance improvement initiatives
- Build, develop, and lead high-performing deal teams; actively mentor managers and junior staff while instilling a culture of accountability, quality, and commercial thinking.
- Originate new business and expand existing relationships with private equity sponsors, investment banks, and corporate clients; consistently identify and convert cross-sell opportunities across advisory service lines.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA required.
- 7–12 years of progressive experience within Transaction Advisory, Deals, or a leading financial due diligence practice.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct M&A financial due diligence experience, with a track record of leading engagements across buy-side and sell-side transactions.
- Demonstrated experience advising private equity and/or venture-backed clients through complex transactions, including direct exposure to sponsor-driven deal environments.
Compensation
- Base salary: $200,000 – 300,000 Base Salary Bonus (30% Conservatively)
