Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst | Profitable Software Startup | Work/Life Balance
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical-minded accounting professional to step into a high-impact role at a growing, dynamic company. You’ll take real ownership while working closely with an engaged CFO who is excited to mentor and invest in your development. In this role, you’ll lead core accounting functions, from month-end close to reporting, while also partnering directly with the CFO on FP&A, strategic finance and capital raising initiative.
They’re seeking someone who brings energy, curiosity and a builder’s mindset, someone who’s motivated to drive automation and efficiency across the finance function.
The role offers a rare combination of startup exposure and strong work/life balance, with a hybrid schedule based in NYC.
Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal leadership
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and controls, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency
- Partner closely with the CFO on ad hoc projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic finance initiatives
- Assist with cash management, reporting, and other operational finance needs as the company scales
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the business to support operational and financial initiatives
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–6 years in accounting or finance operations
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and Excel
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working across teams
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 bonus equity
