Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, full-service destination resort located in Southern Vermont. Our client is seeking a Director of Finance to lead all on-site finance and accounting operations for a year-round hospitality property featuring multiple revenue streams including lodging, restaurants, golf, spa, weddings, meetings, and events. This is a high-impact, on-site executive leadership role offering strong compensation, long-term career opportunity, and the chance to make a meaningful impact within a historic and highly visible resort environment. The ideal candidate will come from hospitality, resort, full-service hotel, or another complex multi-revenue operating environment with transferable leadership and financial management experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the on-site finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Oversee month-end close and ensure timely, accurate preparation of P&L statements and financial reporting.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial analysis.
• Partner with the General Manager and executive leadership team on business performance, labor planning, and strategic decision making.
• Maintain General Ledger accuracy, reconciliations, AP/AR oversight, and internal controls.
• Manage banking activity including payroll funding, transfers, disbursements, and cash positioning.
• Ensure timely filing of sales, use, occupancy, and other required tax reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with regional finance leadership and ownership stakeholders on reporting and annual planning initiatives.
• Drive process improvements, system optimization, and stronger financial visibility across all resort departments.
• Serve as backup support for payroll operations in partnership with centralized payroll resources.
Qualifications and Must-Haves
• 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Prior experience managing and developing finance or accounting staff.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience within hospitality is strongly preferred.
• Resort, full-service hotel, golf resort, spa resort, or multi-revenue property experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally with operations leaders including food and beverage, rooms, golf, spa, and events.
• Advanced Excel and strong overall systems proficiency.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• High level of ownership with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Target base salary range $100k-$130k depending on experience. Additional annual bonus opportunity and cell phone reimbursement included. Final compensation package will align with candidate background, experience, and overall fit.
