What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Specialist position at Addison Group?
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a QA Technician to join their Quality team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This is a backfill position reporting to the QA Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting metal materials used within the energy industry, including pipe, fittings, valves, and specialty alloys.
This position is vital to ensure the right material is received and meets all the standards and customer requirements before the material ships out.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs inspection duties related to incoming and stock material used for order fulfillment
- Checks products visually for defects
- Checks dimensions to confirm material is within specifications
- Performs Thickness and PMI inspections when required
- Utilizes inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, tape measures, PMI devices, and hardness testing equipment
- Maintains QA receiving and hold logs
- Generates reports when required for PMI, thickness, or non-conformance issues
- Communicates effectively with customers, suppliers, and multiple departments and levels of management
- Works in a warehouse setting and outdoors as required
- Performs any other duties related to the Quality Department as directed by the Team Lead or QA Manager
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior Quality Assurance / Quality Control inspection experience within a metals environment.
- Experience inspecting pipe, fittings, valves, specialty alloys, or similar metal products
- Familiarity with Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing. Formal certification is not required.
- Experience using inspection tools such as: Micrometers, Calipers, Tape Measures, and Hardness Testing Equipment
