Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support compliance and privacy program initiatives
- Conduct and manage billing and coding audits, with a focus on Medicare
- Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Identify compliance risks, trends, and gaps, and recommend corrective actions
- Lead and support internal investigations related to fraud, waste, abuse, and errors
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational adherence to applicable laws
- Track audit work plans, findings, and resolution efforts
- Support privacy functions, including breach response and prevention
- Prepare reports and present audit findings to leadership and committees
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical, finance, and operations
- Provide training and guidance on compliance, documentation, and HIPAA regulations
- 5–6 years of compliance and privacy experience within healthcare
- Experience with billing and coding audits, preferably Medicare-focused
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to healthcare compliance, including fraud, waste, and abuse
- Experience conducting audits and managing compliance investigations
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Master’s or JD) preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
