Job Description:
The Insurance Follow Up Representative is responsible for managing all aspects of the hospital billing and reimbursement process. This role requires someone with attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a background in healthcare billing and insurance claims resolution. The role starts onsite for training and transitions to a hybrid model (3 days remote, 2 days onsite) upon demonstrated performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Submit claims to government entities, private payers, and patients in compliance with payer guidelines
Resolve claim edits in Epic and clearinghouse systems; collaborate with internal departments to reduce rework
Update demographic and insurance information; verify eligibility and retrieve referrals
Resolve denials and payment variances with thorough root cause analysis
Ensure claims are sent and received timely
Process incoming correspondence and inquiries from payers
Handle internal transfers, process refunds, and manage credit balances
Complete other revenue cycle-related duties as needed
Qualifications:
Prior experience in medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle operations
Knowledge of insurance claims, EOBs, and denial management
Proficiency in Epic required
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Additional Details:
Type of Assignment: Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
Hours: M–F, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Training: Fully onsite; hybrid schedule available post-training
