Principal Scientist – Biotechnology (36477)

A global biotechnology company in the Schaumburg, IL area is seeking a detail-oriented Principal Scientist to lead laboratory research, drive product development, support business growth, collaborate with external partners, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and supervise research staff.

Principal Scientist Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory research and support new product development.
• Contribute to technical documentation and intellectual property development.
• Provide technical support and collaborate with customers and internal teams.
• Oversee laboratory operations, safety standards, and quality procedures.
• Lead, train, and mentor scientific staff.
• Manage project budgets, research documentation, and progress reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee team performance and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principal Scientist Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret complex technical documents and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with analytical laboratory instruments preferred.
• Knowledge of specialized scientific applications is a plus.
• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Research and development experience, preferably in a related industry.
• Experience in product development, intellectual property, and cross-functional project management.
