An automotive parts manufacturer in the Northville, MI area is seeking a General Manager of Engineering responsible for leading an operating facility.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a cross-functional organization including operations, engineering, quality, materials and safety
- Drive site performance as it relates to profit and loss and growth
- Maintain a continuous improvement and lean manufacturing environment
- Maintain partnerships with commercial, technical and logistics teams throughout North America
- Oversee hiring, developing and retaining facility personnel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business or related field
- At least 10 years of leadership experience in automotive manufacturing environment
- Highly prefer experience with powertrain or transmission components
- Strong background in lean manufacturing and quality assurance (IATF 16949)
- Experience overseeing and budget to justify capital and drive cost
- Experience working on a plant floor as well as handling customer interactions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
