What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions?
A machine tooling manufacturer located in Troy, OH is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer (with previous experience as a Machinist) to join their team. They currently supply their machines to various companies within the Automotive Industry. This is a full-time/permanent position.
The ideal candidate will have experience programming CNC Machines from scratch (not just editing codes already available). You will be responsible for both programming and operating the machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Create and interpret code of CNC Machines (such as Okuma/Mitsubishi/Toshiba) from technical drawings, and then adjust according to required measurements
- Produce precise and consistent parts in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and edit codes to improve efficiency
- Conduct basic tool maintenance on daily basis
- Report any damages or tools or machines immediately
- Report material shortages
- Complete all required paperwork
- Maintain a positive work ethic
- Collaborate and support other members of manufacturing team when possible
Requirements:
- Experience with G-Code
- Must be able to set up and operate CNC Machines
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a CNC Programmer (previous experience as a Machinist is a plus)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in tooling and metalworking
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
