Discover more at Lam Benefits Job Descriptions: Essential Function: Program, Setup, and operate CNC machines to produce quality products that meet or exceed all requirements. Perform in-process part inspection and document results. Operate support equipment. Overall Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Management Adhere to Silfex Quality Management System Properly document measurements and visual observations Inspect parts for defects and other anomalies visually and by using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, indicators and calipers to ensure parts meet proper specifications Day to Day Responsibilities: Create new programs and/or update current programs as required by supervision Identify tooling required in program or suggest replacement tooling as required for current parts or new parts Create / update set up sheets for new and current running parts, as required Run and troubleshoot new programs or currently running programs to minimize program time or issues operators are having with programs (Including tooling or machine issues) Ability to make proper offsets and show operators the proper way to make offsets in the CNC machines Continuously suggest improvements in new programs based on operator feedback (or other stakeholders) or previously updated programs Establish standard work for consistent tool numbers used in programs and any other standard work to minimize variation in programs with similar machining configurations Use DNC software to transfer programs to/from CNC machines Basic Requirements: Follow all company Safety policies and procedures and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor, manager, EHS manager in the facility Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions and other manufacturing related information needed to program parts Setup / operate CNC machines, grinders and other manufacturing equipment Accurately machine parts per work instructions Use tool setter & dresser to set tooling geometry Use proper material handling techniques as provided in training Document machine crashes Generate L2L request for machine issues/ troubles Maintain job rotation within department as required Perform other duties as assigned by department management or task related to special projects or assignments Perform 5S, general housekeeping duties and tasks Preferred Programming Experience G and M code programming Variable programming Conversational Powermill, or Inventor Cam NX programming Culture: Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of Silfex. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED 6 years of experience operating a CNC machine preferably while working with silicon, glass, or a related material Experience programming machines using Edgecam, manual, and conversational. Able to work effectively individually and in a team environment with minimum supervision Must be detail oriented Must be able to assess drawings and specifications for machining and inspection results Must be able to use a wide variety of measuring instruments such as micrometers, indicators, calipers, and other measuring devices Must have strong math skills, particularly trigonometry Must be quality and safety minded Must have basic understanding of computers Must possess problem solving capabilities Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
