Chartering & Operations Coordinator - Vessel Operating Company (36440)

An established international maritime transportation and vessel operating company is seeking a motivated Chartering & Operations Coordinator to support both chartering and operational activities while working closely with customers, vessel owners, port agents, and industry partners. The successful candidate will coordinate daily vessel activities, communicate with various stakeholders, maintain shipping documentation, and assist with chartering and business development efforts.

Chartering & Operations Coordinator Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate day-to-day vessel operations and voyage activities.
• Monitor vessel schedules, cargo loading/discharge status, and voyage progress.
• Liaise with vessel owners, customers, charterers, port agents, terminals, and service providers.
• Prepare freight quotations, voyage reports, and operational summaries.
• Assist with chartering activities, including vessel positioning, cargo inquiries, and fixture follow-up.
• Maintain and review shipping documentation, contracts, and operational records.
• Support freight invoicing and voyage accounting activities.
• Identify and resolve operational issues while ensuring timely communication among stakeholders.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and support business development initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned

Chartering & Operations Coordinator Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in maritime shipping, vessel operations, chartering, freight forwarding, ocean import/export, logistics, transportation, or a related industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of international freight movement, supply chain operations, and customer service.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, port agents, and internal stakeholders.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience supporting breakbulk, dry bulk, project cargo, multipurpose vessels, or other ocean freight operations are preferred.
• Understanding of charter party agreements, vessel chartering activities, and maritime transportation processes.
• Previous experience working with ocean carriers, vessel operators, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, or shipping lines.
• Knowledge of international trade, ocean transportation, and global supply chain operations.
