Job Description
We are seeking a Surface Finishing Process Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and implementation of advanced finishing processes for metal and plastic components. This role is critical in ensuring products meet stringent cosmetic and functional standards across industries such as aerospace and high-performance manufacturing.
As a key technical expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including design, manufacturing, and quality—to deliver innovative solutions that enhance durability, appearance, and compliance. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain finishing equipment, and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize surface finishing processes (e.g., anodizing, plating, coating) for diverse materials.
- Conduct trials and demonstrations at production or customer sites to validate process performance.
- Monitor and adjust finishing operations to maintain consistency, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Partner with design and manufacturing teams to integrate finishing requirements into product development.
- Assess supplier capabilities and implement process improvements to close production gaps.
- Maintain and calibrate finishing equipment while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Document process parameters, results, and best practices for quality control and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical training and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Travel to customer or manufacturing sites as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surface finishing processes, preferably within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of anodizing, plating, and coating techniques.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex finishing systems.
- Familiarity with quality systems, validation protocols, and regulatory compliance.

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
