Safety Manager

The Safety Manager will coordinate and administer Site Safety Programs ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards. This role involves providing safety resource support for assigned operating units, including training and permitting. The position requires travel and offers a company vehicle or allowance.

• Investigate any incident or near miss and report findings.
• Attend safety meetings as required.
• Conduct regular safety meetings with tradespersons to instruct them on project safety practices and requirements.
• Conduct written daily safety inspections of work activities and ensure compliance with safe work practices.
• Take direction related to timely abatement and control of hazards.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response.
• Conduct site inspections and track all corrective actions to closure.
• Perform job safety analysis.
• Maintain jobsite specific safety documentation.
• Coach and teach safety across the region.
• Conduct safety training.

• 7 years of construction experience, with 5 years in on-site construction safety responsibilities.
• CHST or CSP certification.
• Specialized training relevant to the scope of work.
• OSHA 500-hour Construction Outreach Training or greater.
• Working knowledge of construction safety regulations and hazard control methods.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct safety training.

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong tracking and follow-up skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of risk, liability, and safety management.

This is a fully onsite opportunity with a schedule of 4 days at 10 hours each and 2 days at 8 hours each, totaling 56 hours per week. The role offers the potential for significant overtime due to project deadlines. The position covers a 5-year project with additional data center work being bid in the area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfax, IA.

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $67.31/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Fairfax,IA.
