The Safety Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing Training, Safety, and Quality initiatives across multiple projects and operational groups. This position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, customer standards, and internal TSQ expectations while guiding TSQ Specialists and supporting operations teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic, organized, and proactive leader capable of balancing field needs, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage TSQ Specialists to support project delivery, compliance, and consistent execution of TSQ programs
- Conduct trend analysis using data from site observations, audits, and incident reports to identify safety and quality issues and drive corrective actions
- Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and customer‑specific documentation
- Participate in customer site walks and serve as a primary TSQ liaison to ensure alignment with expectations and regulatory standards
- Manage Workers’ Compensation processes, Return‑to‑Work programs, and safety documentation compliance
- Coordinate internal and external training programs, toolbox talks, and TSQ communications across project teams
- Administer and enhance the Site Quality Observation Program, including tracking, reporting, and ensuring corrective action completion
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing observations, creating lessons learned, and implementing process improvements
- Maintain accurate records of TSQ compliance, training, safety metrics, and project observations
- Perform additional TSQ‑related leadership duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including mentoring and performance oversight
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical‑thinking abilities for engaging operations teams, customers, and executives
- Ability to manage multiple large‑scale priorities and deliver high‑quality work under time constraints
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, quality standards, training practices, and documentation requirements
- Highly organized with strong problem‑solving skills and data‑driven decision‑making capability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across field and office environments
- Bilingual proficiency preferred but not required
Education and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Training, Safety, or Quality leadership roles, preferably in a multi‑project environment
- OSHA #510 and bachelor’s degree in safety management, Quality Assurance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience developing SOPs, managing TSQ programs, and driving process improvements
- Experience overseeing compliance programs and managing field‑based TSQ personnel
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does have direct reports.
Work Location and Travel
This position is on-site daily. Minimal travel is expected. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as may be required by Network Connex.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The standard work environment for this position is primarily indoors, though outdoor work may occasionally be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The individual is frequently required to stand and walk and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 25 pounds. The individual may also be required to work from heights and in tight, confined spaces.
