RF Communications Engineer – Human Spaceflight
Position Description
We are seeking an experienced RF Communications Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of radio communication systems for human spaceflight modules. This role is critical to ensuring reliable, high-performance RF communications between space-based platforms and ground systems throughout the mission lifecycle.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in RF system design, test, and integration within aerospace or spaceflight environments and is comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop radio communication systems for human-rated spaceflight modules
- Perform RF link budget calculations and analyze end-to-end system performance
- Lead the integration of RF communication components with spacecraft and ground hardware/software
- Plan and execute functional, performance, and integration testing of RF subsystems
- Conduct RF interference (RFI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) analyses for space-based communication systems
- Utilize advanced RF test equipment to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize system performance
- Collaborate closely with systems, avionics, software, and ground operations teams to ensure mission success
- Support design reviews, verification plans, and technical documentation

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
