Job Description

The Repair Technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of complex equipment, including water jets, laser systems, thermal chambers, and RTUs. This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and accurately documenting all maintenance and repair activities to support multiple departments across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on water jet equipment, laser systems, thermal chambers, and RTUs to ensure optimal performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and repairs on equipment when issues arise, diagnosing problems efficiently and implementing effective solutions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on a range of equipment, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify root causes.
• Complete repair tickets accurately and promptly, documenting all work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
• Prioritize repair tickets to support all departments, balancing urgent needs with ongoing maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate equipment availability and minimize disruption to operations.
• Use basic computer systems to log maintenance activities, update work orders, and access technical documentation as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards while working on all equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair issues on water jet equipment, laser systems, thermal chambers, and RTUs or similar industrial systems.
• Strong automotive mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills that can transfer to complex machinery maintenance.
• Basic computer knowledge and competency, including the ability to use maintenance software or digital tools for documentation.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and equipment documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing equipment.
• Effective time management skills to prioritize and complete multiple repair tickets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical or skilled trade degree or equivalent technical education.
• Background in automotive mechanical repair that demonstrates hands-on technical ability.
• Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components.
• Willingness to learn specific equipment such as water jets, laser systems, thermal chambers, and RTUs if not already familiar.
• Strong communication skills to document work clearly and interact with other departments.

Work Environment

The Repair Technician works in a hands-on, equipment-focused environment that includes water jets, laser systems, thermal chambers, and RTUs. The role involves moving between different areas of the facility to service and repair equipment for various departments. Work is typically performed in an industrial or production setting where adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment is important. The position requires regular use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems to complete maintenance tasks and document repair tickets.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Pittsburgh,PA.
