Remote Transmission Designer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer with 5-8 years of experience in electrical design and drafting. While experience in Transmission is ideal, we will also consider candidates with Substation or Distribution expertise. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers across various locations such as Portland, Walnut Creek, Austin, and Salt Lake City. Experience with SDG&E or California utilities is a significant advantage, but we are open to candidates with relevant expertise in other regions.

Responsibilities

• Perform Transmission design for projects supporting SDG&E and other utilities throughout the Western region.
• Collaborate with engineers from diverse backgrounds to support Substation physical projects.
• Utilize AutoDesk Inventor for design tasks related to power delivery.
• Engage in drafting and design of transmission lines and substations.

• Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor.
• Experience in power delivery, particularly in transmission line design.
• Strong communication skills to work remotely with engineers in various locations.
• Engineering or Technology related degree.

• Experience with Substation design and drafting.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Experience with SDG&E or California utilities is a plus.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
