Quality Specialist

The Quality Specialist will lead and conduct environmental monitoring activities at the production facility, acting as the site expert in hygienic design, hygienic zoning, and master sanitation. The role involves developing work instructions and procedures for hygienic design and plant sanitation programs to enhance understanding and eliminate recurrence. This position requires organizing and conducting training to improve plant hygienic design non-conformances and follow-up, initiating continuous improvement actions, and leading root cause analysis for deviations related to environmental monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct environmental monitoring activities for the production facility.
• Act as the site expert in hygienic design, hygienic zoning, and master sanitation.
• Develop work instructions and procedures for hygienic design and plant sanitation programs.
• Organize and conduct training to improve understanding and performance of plant hygienic design non-conformances.
• Initiate continuous improvement actions and lead root cause analysis for deviations related to environmental monitoring.
• Report swabbing results as a KPI to appropriate parties in a timely fashion.
• Collaboratively work with departments on complaints, new product start-up, and internal non-conformances.
• Organize and conduct training to improve understanding and performance of SOPs and GMPs, and write work instructions.
• Ensure inventory is properly managed.

• Experience in quality management, HAACP, FSMA, SQF, GMP.
• Leadership experience with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
• Experience in leading meetings and programs.
• Knowledge of RCA/CAPA.
• 5S and sensory experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food quality or a BS degree in sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, etc.).

• High school diploma with a quality background or a BS degree in sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, etc.).
• 6 months of experience with Excel (learnable).
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a very big plus.

The work hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, with mandatory overtime covering for people on the first shift who are on vacation or out sick. There is no requirement to cover off shifts. You will work with 20 production employees, 2 day shift technicians, and 2 night shift technicians. The culture promotes being self-motivated and independent, with the expectation to lead the shift in quality. A shift supervisor from production will be available for support.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of KENOSHA, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

This is a direct placement position and benefits will be provided by client upon start of assignment or earlier if requested by consultant.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in KENOSHA,WI.
