What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at Actalent?
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the manufacture and timely release of a high quality product, which meets and/or exceeds all specifications and is compliant with FDA and other regulatory agencies and is fully integrated with Tower Laboratories' business objectives. Develop and implement methods to test and monitor the quality of the product in all phases of manufacture from receipt of raw materials to release of finished product.
Lead, coach and provide direction to QA and QC professionals to optimize the performance, teamwork and effectiveness of the Quality department as a whole.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct and manage activities and work flow in the QC and QA functions on both a strategic and day to day level; assess needs and propose solutions accordingly.
- Lead, coach and provide direction to QC and QA personnel; assess and leverage strengths and provide training and/or developmental opportunities as appropriate.
- Overall responsibility for adherence to Quality procedures and ensuring compliance to all specifications and regulations; implement new quality systems/measures as necessary
- Work with customers to provide responses/necessary documentation as requested.
- Participate in the review/evaluation of new vendors.
- Analyze, trouble shoot and propose solutions to technical problems.
- Authorize Release of final product.
- Work collaboratively with Production Operations management to gauge production requirements and priorities to optimize workflow.
- Work collaboratively with Technical staff on various projects (R&D, compliance... etc.) as necessary.
- Lead internal and external audit activities. Coordinate audit schedules and agendas with outside parties. Function as primary company representative during audits. Work with Compliance Manager to lead corrective and preventative action activities for audit responses.
- Work collaboratively with department managers to ensure appropriate sanitation procedures are implemented and followed.
- Support company mission and values; promote adherence to all safety, cGMP and Company policies
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of successful management experience in a QC/QA role within a pharmaceutical or related consumer product industry Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills
- Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to solve problems
- Solid comprehension of FDA regulations, cGMP and Quality procedures
