Job Description

The Quality Assurance (QA) Lab Technician will perform a variety of duties within the facility, ensuring adherence to cGMP and BRC standards. The role involves conducting quality control checks on the floor, performing lab testing of raw materials and in-process products, advising on updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting internal audits, performing investigations and root-cause analyses, and completing data entry and reporting using Excel. The technician will engage in cross-functional communication with all manufacturing departments and leadership and must be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control checks on the floor and lab testing of raw materials and in-process products.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP and BRC standards.
• Advise on updates to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct internal audits and investigations, performing root-cause analysis.
• Complete data entry and reporting using Excel.
• Communicate cross-functionally with manufacturing departments and leadership.

Essential Skills

• Quality assurance and quality control experience.
• Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and BRC standards.
• Proficiency in Excel and data entry.
• Degree in biology, food science, or chemistry or 1-2 experience in QA
• Experience with titrations and microbiology testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• AS or BS in Biology or any scientific discipline. (Not required)
• Mathematics and computer usage skills.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.

Work Environment

The plant operates 24/7, and this position is for the 3rd shift (Sunday to Thursday) with a shift differential. Candidates can expect a raise after a 15-week training period and a bonus for perfect attendance every two weeks. The team consists of an Assistant Quality Manager and three technicians per shift. Adherence to GMP guidelines is required, including restrictions on artificial nails, eyelashes, visible jewelry, and specific attire. The role requires wearing closed-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeve shirts. A uniform and freezer jackets are provided, as technicians will frequently enter and exit the freezer.

This is a Contract position based out of Hazleton, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.25 - $20.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hazleton,PA.
