Job Title: Production Planner
Job Description
As a Production Planner, you will develop, implement, and maintain production schedules to ensure efficient utilization of resources and on-time delivery of customer orders. You will adjust and optimize schedules in response to demand changes, supply disruptions, or capacity constraints.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate schedule updates, priorities, and potential risks to stakeholders.
- Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze production workflows and recommend improvements to increase throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance resource utilization.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to balance supply and demand.
- Partner with procurement to forecast material needs, minimize shortages, and reduce excess inventory.
- Ensure products are delivered on schedule while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Optimize labor, equipment, and material usage to meet production goals.
- Track, analyze, and report on key manufacturing metrics such as OEE, cycle time, yield, scrap, and capacity utilization.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement process improvements.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of production control principles, capacity planning, and inventory management.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Ability to analyze production data and identify trends to improve performance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Hands-on experience managing metrics such as OEE, takt time, and throughput.
- Familiarity with advanced planning and scheduling tools.
Work Environment
The role involves working closely with various departments to ensure the smooth operation of production processes. The environment requires proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and involves analyzing production data to drive improvements. A focus on efficiency, collaboration, and communication is essential.

This is a Permanent position based out of Whitsett, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
