Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

The phlebotomist will be responsible for performing venipuncture procedures primarily using straight needles at a doctor's office. This role involves representing the organization on-site and ensuring the accurate collection and handling of specimens.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client assignments within a designated region on short notice.
• Greet customers appropriately and treat all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collections clearly and courteously.
• Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
• Dispose of contaminated sharps in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
• Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into the computer.
• Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify tests ordered, and obtain accurate billing information.
• Package specimens for transport, store specimen samples according to required temperature, and follow procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimen.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with straight needle sticks
• Phlebotomy certification
• Venipuncture skills
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
• 2 years of experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma

Work Environment

The phlebotomist will perform services at doctor's offices, assisting a wide range of patients. The position is first shift, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.00/hr.
